Afghan teachers demand to get paid their wages

Herat (Afghanistan), 5 Oct (EFE/EPA).- Afghan teachers demanded on Tuesday to the Taliban the prompt payment of their wages.FOOTAGE OF A CEREMONY TO COMMEMORATE THE WORLD DAY OF EDUCATION IN HERAT, AFGHANISTAN.Soundbites and translations of:1.- Shir Ahmad, vice-governor of Herat: "The wages of the teachers, promised before, will be tended. All the problems in regards to the wages of the teachers have been solved, the wages and the budget have arrived at Herat Bank and now the money is in process and will be paid soon to teachers".2.- Maliha Safi, teacher: "We continue teaching, but the girls and the teachers of the upper degrees do not teach and do not receive an education. The economy of the teachers weakens every day and we want to get paid as soon as possible"."Life has become very difficult for us, we need to earn our money (...) Now there is no way to make a living and the majority of the girls and women have remained home, we are concerned by this situation".
