Police brigades transfer the bodies of the 27 workers who died in the devastating fire at a gold mine in southern Peru to the Arequipa morgue. A short circuit caused an explosion that started a blaze inside one of the mine shafts in the town of Yanaquihua. Anxious parents wait for news outside a primary school in central Kenya, after an overnight fire in a dormitory kills at least 17 children and injured several others. Police say the blaze in Nyeri county's Hillside Endarasha Academy broke out at around midnight, while the children were sleeping. There are fears there could be more victims in the damaged building.
