In the chilly surroundings of Pite Havsbad, Sweden, Klara Andersson is pushing the Tavascan XE to its limits on the ice and snow of her home country. Meanwhile, Nasser Al-Attiyah is surfing the dunes 4,500 kilometres away in the Qatar desert after winning his fifth Dakar Rally. Following their strong performance in the final two races of last year’s edition, with a podium finish in Chile and a victory in the final round in Uruguay, right now the two ABT CUPRA XE team drivers are preparing for the most extreme electric challenge in a new Extreme E season. Theirs is a story of contrasts that add up, driven by the same unstoppable impulse.
Sébastien Loeb, the nine-times World Rally Championship winner, has shared his sensations at the wheel of electric cars such as the CUPRA Tavascan after driving the new SUV during his stay in Sardinia for the Island X Prix, in which he raced with the CUPRA Tavascan XE. Despite deciding not to participate in the championship this year, Seb accepted the challenge proposed by the ABT CUPRA XE Team to take part in these two races.
In her native Sweden, Klara Andersson is busy driving the Tavascan XE on snow and ice. She’s preparing for her debut as an official ABT CUPRA XE driver, on March 11th and 12th in Saudi Arabia at the Desert X-Prix, the event which kicks off the new Extreme E season. Following her magnificent performance in the final two races of last year’s edition, this young driver will be back in tandem with Nasser Al-Attiyah, with whom she has already proven to be in great harmony, scoring a podium finish in Chile and the team’s first victory in Uruguay. ABT CUPRA XE confirms its participation in the 2023 Extreme E season, unveils a new livery for the Tavascan XE, and announces its new driver line-up. This year, Nasser Al-Attiyah is joined by Klara Andersson, after impressive performances last year, including a podium finish in Chile in September and the team’s victory at the Energy X Prix in Uruguay in November.
