Producing the highest output ever for an all-electric car from the BMW Group, the BMW i7 M70 xDrive marks another milestone for BMW M GmbH in its electric mobility transformation. Following the launch of the BMW i4 M50 – BMW M GmbH’s best-selling model worldwide in 2022 – and the BMW iX M60, this is now the company’s third performance model to have an all-electric drive system. The success of electric propulsion among BMW M brand enthusiasts, the consistent expansion of the product offering and the repeated increases in drive system output clearly highlight the huge potential of electric tech to deliver performance that captures the imagination.It will be built at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, together with all other model variants of the luxury sedan. As well as being the lead plant for luxury models, the production facility in Lower Bavaria is also home to the competence centre for electric drive system production, which manufactures both the electric motors and the high-voltage batteries for all variants of the BMW i7 on site. The worldwide launch of the BMW i7 M70 xDrive will start in the second half of 2023.

A plug-in hybrid system comprising a V8 petrol engine and an exceptionally powerful electric motor endows the BMW XM with captivating dynamic prowess.The newly developed M HYBRID drive system, an extravagant design and the progressive luxury ambience inside the BMW XM come together to create a fresh interpretation of the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) concept for the high-performance segment that will open up that inimitable M feeling to new target groups and markets.The highlight of the brand’s model offensive in its anniversary year, the BMW XM is also the first BMW M original since the BMW M1. Precisely crafted flourishes in the exterior design of the high-performance SAV recall the legendary mid-engined sports car. Production of the BMW XM will get underway at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in the USA in December 2022 before it arrives at dealers worldwide in spring 2023. The key sales markets will be the USA, China and the Middle East.

BMW has been setting standards in the development and production of special protection vehicles that combine the driving experience typical of the brand with the highest safety standards for more than four decades. With the current portfolio of special protection vehicles and the intensive training courses for their drivers under the guidance of experienced instructors, BMW has created a comprehensive range of tailor-made security products from a single source.The training programmes are designed for professional drivers who want to improve their skills in handling special-protection vehicles in order to be optimally prepared for extreme situations. As one of Europe's most renowned test and inspection centres for vehicle safety, the training centre in Groß Dölln near Berlin provides the ideal setting. The former military airfield, where the authorities also train their emergency services, was converted into a state-of-the-art driving centre in 2002 and is now the perfect venue for theory lessons and driving exercises for BMW Security Vehicle Training.
