Lamborghini LB744 - Driving Modes

Description

Just a few days before the premiere of the first V12 HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) hybrid super sports car, Lamborghini gives an insight into the car’s driving dynamics. The new car, project name LB744, is designed and developed to deliver absolute excitement and control in all situations and in all grip conditions, providing the driver with a level of confidence and connection with the car never experienced before. The innovations that place the LB744 at the apex of its category include the architecture and balance of the car; the cutting-edge approach to the chassis and the aerodynamic design; and the new hybrid powertrain that makes it possible to maximize the electric motor support and introduce new driving modes, including zero-emission 4WD, for a total of 13 different driving experiences. The car features an unprecedented layout: a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 mid-engine, three electric motors, two of which are located on the front e-axle and one integrated into the new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, arranged for the first time behind the combustion engine and transversely to the V12. The tunnel, a space traditionally reserved for the gearbox since the era of the Countach, is now the location of a new lithium-ion battery with high specific power that drives the electric motors.

For 60 years, Automobili Lamborghini has been synonymous with cutting-edge innovation. Just a few weeks ahead of launching the first hybrid plug-in V12 High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV), the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand unveils a technical solution that is unique in today’s automotive landscape. The LB744 is based on a new aeronautics-inspired chassis, the ‘monofuselage’. As well as a monocoque made entirely of multi-technology carbon fiber, it features a front structure in Forged Composites; a special material made of short carbon fibers soaked in resin. This technology was patented and used by Lamborghini in its first structural applications as far back as 2008.The monofuselage represents a significant step forward from the Aventador in terms of torsional stiffness, lightweight qualities and driving dynamics. What’s more, the LB744 is the first super sports car to be fitted with a 100% carbon fiber front structure: carbon fiber is also used for the front cone structures to ensure a level of energy absorption that is significantly higher when compared to a traditional metal structure – double that of the Aventador Ultimae’s aluminium front frame - combined with a substantial reduction in weight.

  • Lamborghini Urus SE - An unmatched driving experience

The Urus SE offers an unparalleled driving experience also thanks to the plug-in hybrid system, which helps to improve the vehicle’s performance and dynamics on any surface and in any condition: more torque and power at any rpm is provided by way of innovative technical solutions such as the introduction of the electric torque vectoring system between the two axles, and the electronic rear differential. The twin-turbo 4.0 V8 engine has been re-engineered to work in optimal synergy with the electric powertrain. It develops 620 CV of power (456 kW) and 800 Nm of driving torque; the combustion unit is combined with an electric powertrain delivering 192 CV (141 kW) and 483 Nm of torque. In delivering maximum output the main focus has been on the calibration strategy between ICE and e-motor, reaching a total output of 800 CV to ensure an optimal power curve in every driving mode and on every surface. A 25.9-kWh lithium-ion battery is situated below the load floor and above the electronically-controlled rear differential. The permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor located inside the 8-speed automatic transmission can act as a boost for the V8 combustion engine but also as a traction element, making the Urus SE a 100% electric 4WD vehicle capable of traveling more than 60 km in EV mode.Debuting on the Urus SE is the new centrally-located longitudinal electric torque vectoring system with an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch, which distributes driving torque variably and continuously between the front and rear axles. The transfer case works in synergy with the new electronic limited-slip differential installed on the rear axle, giving the vehicle “on demand” oversteering to convey the feel of a purebred super sports car.

  • Lamborghini Urus Performante Polizia Driving Vdeo

The successful twenty-year collaboration between Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian “Polizia di Stato” continues. This time, the Sant’Agata Bolognese carmaker has delivered a Urus Performante to the Italian Highway Police, which will enter into service in 2024. The ceremony took place in Rome today, Tuesday December 12, in Piazza del Viminale, outside the Ministry of the Interior headquarters. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, handed over the keys to the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, in the presence of Head of Police, Vittorio Pisani. The collaboration between Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian State Police started in 2004, and the Urus Performante is the sixth model to enter into the Highway Police fleet. The Super SUV joins the Huracán LP610-4, and will be used for special services including the urgent medical transport of organs and plasma. The Urus Performante was fitted out by Lamborghini technicians at Sant’Agata Bolognese, starting from the exterior, following police specifications. The livery was designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile and combines the classic blue color of the Italian State Police and white, with tricolor bands on the sills and seat belt. The police logos have been applied to the doors in reflective film, while a light bar with 360° blue LED lights has been installed on the roof, together with a two-tone electric siren. The cockpit has been customized with various elements that are indispensable for the public security service, including an armored weapon box; a flip-down message display; and a special compartment in the trunk for stowing service equipment and a defibrillator for first aid response. Most importantly, a portable fridge for the transportation of organs is fitted, including a display and data logger for the continuous monitoring of the internal temperature.
