The Cumbre Vieja on Spain's Canary Islands volcano has forced a total of 6,000 people from their homes and destroyed around 100 properties since it erupted on Sunday afternoon. A vast river of molten lava from the volcano continues to destroy everything in its path as it edges towards the sea, where its arrival is expected to generate clouds of toxic gases. IMAGES
