CUPRA driver Jordi Gené pushes the brand’s most powerful model to the limit in the country’s northernmost region to show that its exclusive performance is perfect for all terrains.Going from 0-100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds is an over-the-top experience in any circumstance, and on this closed, icy track the sensation is multiplied. CUPRA’s most exclusive model to date, of which only 7,000 units have been produced, is its most powerful car. And it’s not just a sports car. Equipped with four-wheel drive, it adapts to all kinds of terrain, even those as unstable as this one, without losing any traction.
The CUPRA Born is the brand’s first 100% electric vehicle and the next stage of the unconventional challenger brand’s development.It integrates the most advanced powertrain technology: the pure electric system is available with a choice of either 150PS (110kW) or 204PS (150kW) electric engines that deliver energy to the rear wheels.With the addition of an e-Boost package, maximum output can reach up to 170kW (231PS), with battery packs of 58kWh and 77kW, to deliver a range of up to 420km (58kWh) or up to 548km (77kWh).When equipped with the e-Boost package and with the 58kWh battery, the CUPRA Born goes from 0 to 50km/h in only 2.6s and the 0-100km/h in just 6.6 seconds.

Racing drivers Jordi Gené and Christoph Vierling, Head of Overall Vehicle Development at the SEAT S.A. Technical Center, want to find out exactly that today: They are putting the brand's most powerful model, the CUPRA Formentor VZ5, to the test. On the Motorland Aragón race track in Spain, they test the versatility of the five driving modes of this limited-edition model, which guarantee maximum driving pleasure on any terrain.
Can a car be perfect for driving comfortably on the road, go from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds on a racetrack and climb a 70% dirt slope with ease? To find out, we tested the CUPRA Formentor VZ5, the brand’s most powerful model, with racing driver Jordi Gené at the wheel accompanied by Christoph Vierling, head of Whole Vehicle Development at the SEAT S.A. Technical Centre. A car with five driving modes to experience excitement on all types of terrain.
Below the CUPRA signature styled headlights are two air intakes that emphasise the vehicle’s more aggressive face. The carbon fibre lateral front splitter redirect air into the intercoolers, improving refrigeration.The side shape of the high-performance crossover coupe specifies the power found under the bonnet and the overall dynamism of the vehicle and with the addition of flared wheel arches – housing the vehicles wider track – that are home to the VZ5’s 20” copper machined alloy wheels, designed exclusively for the vehicle along with the 18” Akebono waved brakes in copper, the VZ5 exudes dynamism.The elegant yet strong design continues at the rear. The CUPRA Formentor VZ5 is undoubtedly a performance car, and the VZ5-specific carbon fibre rear diffuser and diagonal quad exhaust pipes with copper trim reinforce its personality. Finally, the CUPRA Formentor VZ5 carries the CUPRA lettering in Black Chrome, as well as a new exclusive logo VZ5, also in black chromed.
