The European Commission has proposed a new industrial strategy to cut down the bloc's dependency on countries like China.

In March 2022, the Emile Huchet coal-powered plant in Saint-Avold will stop burning fossil fuels after almost two centuries of operation and turn to green energy: biomass and hydrogen. The change should save some of the 87 jobs on site.
