Lamborghini LB744 - the new benchmark for hybrid super sports cars

Description

Lamborghini has unveiled the first details of the first HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) hybrid super sports car, codenamed LB744, which will make its debut shortly in the year that Lamborghini celebrates its 60th anniversary. With the LB744, Lamborghini has established a new benchmark in terms of performance and driving pleasure: an all-new architecture with new powertrain delivers more than 1000 CV in total, combining the power of a brand new 12-cylinder internal combustion engine with three electric motors and a ground-breaking double clutch gearbox that makes its debut on the 12-cylinder Lamborghini. The car showcases an unprecedented layout: the naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 mid-mounted engine is complemented by three electric motors, one of which is integrated into the new double-clutch eight-speed gearbox. This is mounted transversely and placed for the first time behind the combustion engine. In what has been the transmission tunnel since the days of the Countach, there is a lithium-ion battery instead, which powers the electric motors. The electric motors boost power delivery at low revs and can also turn the new LB744 into a purely electric car, reducing overall CO2 emissions by 30% compared to the Aventador Ultimae.

  • Lamborghini Revuelto - the first super sports V12 hybrid HPEV

In the marque’s 60th anniversary year, Automobili Lamborghini presents Revuelto, the first super sports V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle). Revuelto defines a new paradigm in terms of performance, sportiness and driving pleasure from its unprecedented new architecture; innovative design; maximum-efficiency aerodynamics; and a new carbon frame concept. An output of 1015 CV is delivered from the combined power of an entirely new combustion engine together with three electric motors, alongside a double-clutch gearbox that makes its debut on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini for the first time. The powertrain combines high specific power elements: the new 127 CV/liter combustion engine works synergically with two front axial flux motors that deliver an outstanding weight-to-power ratio, with a radial flux electric motor positioned above the first eight-speed double-clutch gearbox debuting on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini. The three electric motors are powered by a lithium-ion high specific power (4500 W/kg) battery pack that also supports a fully-electric drive mode.

  • An exciting winter comes to an end for Automobili Lamborghini

It's been a busy winter for Automobili Lamborghini, which has been clocking up kilometers on roads all over Europe. Amidst breathtaking scenery and evocative locations, the super sports cars from Sant'Agata Bolognese took on Europe's most beautiful routes through sun, rain, snow and ice, always guaranteeing the highest levels of performance and driving enjoyment. In January a convoy of Urus Performante, Urus S, Huracán STO and Huracán Tecnica paraded along the snowy roads between Denmark and Sweden, delighting onlookers in the fairy-tale setting. The activity wasn’t just focused on the roar of Lamborghini engines however: as often happens during Lamborghini events, driving is combined with unique experiences that remain etched in the memory of those who experience them. The event in Scandinavia made a stop in the evocative Tower of 'The Plant', a converted factory in which containers were built for years and then transformed into a paper mill. While able to take a look at the Huracán Sterrato, guests were intrigued by chef Mattia Risaliti explaining the similarities between culinary art and various aspects in which absolute excellence is expressed in all its forms, a synthesis of Lamborghini's brand philosophy.

  • Lamborghini Avventura 2018 - an expedition of super sports cars across the Norwegian fjords

"Norway, along the challenging Trollstigen road and the Geirangerfjord, was the setting for Lamborghini Avventura 2018: the series of Lamborghini car expeditions to discover the most spectacular places and roads in the world. Following previous events in Andalusia and Transylvania, this year it was Norway’s turn, along a route of almost 500 km between the sea, mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, and the midnight sun. The convoy started off from Ålesund, a picturesque Art Nouveau town in the northern part of the region of the fjords on small interconnected islands. From there, the Lamborghinis challenged the mythical Trollstigen, commonly known as the road of the Trolls, legendary creatures of Norwegian folklore with grotesque human features. A masterpiece of road engineering, the Trollstigen was completed in 1936 following eight years of work, and winds along eleven hairpin turns that climb dizzily up a vertical wall of rock and waterfalls. The Lamborghini group continued through Valldal, the valley of strawberries, and on to Geirangerfjord, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and featured on every list of the most spectacular places in the world. The adventure continued across the Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier in Europe, and the convoy of super sports cars demonstrated the utmost reliability even on a dirt road with a lunar landscape. After a rest stop in the quiet village of Loen, situated at the end of an arm of the Nordfjord, and ferryboat transfers, the group finally arrived at Mount Aksla, which overlooks the fairy-tale town of Ålesund."
