Global investment fund Woven Capital has announced its equity stake in robotics company Nuro, Inc. (Nuro). The investment is the first investment by the fund, which was founded by the Woven Planet Group in January 2021. The Toyota subsidiary is dedicated to the topics of automated driving, smart cities and robotics.Nuro will drive the development and construction of self-driving delivery vehicles in the coming months and years in order to change local trade through autonomous delivery. With its investment, the Woven Planet Group underscores its intention to support companies in the development of innovative technologies and business models in the areas of mobility, automation and artificial intelligence.
More than 74 million Americans--and those they live with--are at increased risk for severe COVID-19. An analysis published Monday by JAMA Internal Medicine reveals those 74 million are classified as 'essential workers' in the US. Researchers say the workers' risk is based on disease risk guidelines developed by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. UPI reports that of the more than 157 million workers across the country, 72% are in jobs deemed essential by the US Department of Homeland Security. What's more, UPI reports over three-fourths of all essential workers are unable to work at home.

According to a preliminary study, flu shots may also reduce your risk of catching COVID-19. Researchers found news about healthcare workers who got a flu shot in the 2019-2020 season. They were 39% less likely to have gotten the coronavirus by June. Additional research suggests that vaccines can boost the body's innate immunity to other diseases.
Healthcare workers and volunteers on the frontlines of COVID-19 are eligible for free life insurance. This is through MassMutual, according to reports at Business Insider. MassMutual's HealthBridge is offering up to $25,000 in life insurance for 3-year terms. HealthBridge is available for workers in seven states who are at risk for exposure to the coronavirus: The states are Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, California, Arizona, and Illinois. The application process is completely online which makes it a fairly simple process.
