    With the Porsche 99X Electric Gen3, Porsche is entering a new era of Formula E. The electric single-seater, the product of an evolution at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach, was presented at the Porsche Experience Center in Franciacorta, Italy. The TAG Heuer Porsche team will use it in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship from the 2023 season.The new Gen3 are the fastest, lightest, most powerful and efficient electric single-seaters ever built. They have been specifically designed for wheel-to-wheel duels on the tight street circuits of the world's cities where Formula E traditionally contests its races.The general concept of the Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 and the other vehicles of the new generation of Formula E constitutes an important evolutionary step. The vehicles have lost weight, have a shorter wheelbase and narrower tracks. The battery has been reduced in size, but is more powerful. It also increases the proportion of energy recovered.     On the Porsche press database, the latest video is available covering the season opening night race of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. On 26 February, Pascal Wehrlein (GER) scored a strong fifth place with the Porsche 99X Electric for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team. His teammate Andre Lotterer finished 16th.

    First laps of Simona De Silvestro in the Porsche 99X Electric. In the race featuring sim racers and influencers, Simona De Silvestro (CH) delivered a consistent performance in her digital Porsche 99X Electric. Starting from 22nd, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team test and development driver immediately gained four positions at the start. The Swiss then climbed into 17th place on lap four – a position she maintained for the rest of the race.

  • Formula E Test Drives in Valencia, Porsche 99X Electric Car Number 36

    The TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team has completed three days of intensive testing at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo near Valencia. The works team and its two regular drivers, Neel Jani and André Lotterer, gained valuable experience, for the first time on track with all the other teams competing in Season 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. The data gathered will be analysed at Porsche Motorsport in Weissach in the weeks leading up to the start of the season, in order to draw goal-oriented conclusions. The first two races for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team – the Diriyah E-Prix on the outskirts of Riyadh – take place on 22nd and 23rd November 2019. The programme at the official Formula E test at Valencia largely consisted of testing various car set-ups and simulations of both qualifying and races. The tests presented the team with its first opportunity to test and optimise the operational processes with both Porsche 99X Electric cars at a racetrack. In total, Jani completed 119 laps (roughly 368 kilometres) of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Lotterer was on track for 154 laps (476 kilometres).
