The new Mercedes-AMG C 43 Sedan Interior Design

Description

With technology derived directly from Formula 1, the latest generation of the Mercedes‑AMG C 43 4MATIC sets new standards for innovative drive solutions both as a Saloon and as an Estate. Following its premiere in the Mercedes-AMG SL 43, the AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, the world's first series-production unit to feature an electric exhaust gas turbocharger, is now also being used in the C-Class. The new form of turbocharging guarantees particularly spontaneous response across the entire rev range and thus offers an even more dynamic driving experience. The turbocharger is operated via the 48-volt electrical system, which also feeds the belt-driven starter-generator (RSG). In the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC the unit produces 300 kW (408 hp) and, in certain driving situations, is able to call upon a brief additional boost of 10 kW (14 hp) from the RSG. The standard rear-axle steering, the AMG Performance 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque distribution, the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission with wet start-off clutch and the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with Adaptive Damping System also contribute to the dynamic driving experience. In keeping with this, brand-specific features in the equipment and appointments as well as in the exterior and interior design emphasise the performance-oriented character of the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC.

  • The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet - News Video

Ahead of the 2018 New York International Auto Show, Mercedes-AMG presented a highly impressively lineup. Making their debuts in the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan flagship store were the performance versions of the C-Class from Mercedes-AMG. Further highlights were the U.S. premieres of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 (fuel consumption combined: 13.1 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 299 g/km) and the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 11.2-9.1 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 256-209 g/km), which celebrated their world premieres in Geneva earlier in the month. Speaking at the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Manhattan, Dietmar Exler, President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, and Tobias Moers, Chief Executive of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, provided a strategic overview of the vehicles and explained the conceptual and technical highlights of the individual models. The main spotlight was on the new C-Class performance models. Following quickly on from the C 43 4MATIC Sedan and Wagon (fuel consumption combined: 9.6-9.3 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 220-213 g/km)2, the Coupe and Cabriolet (fuel consumption combined: 9.8-9.5 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 223-217 g/km)2 have also received a comprehensive update. The shared visual indicators are the AMG radiator grille with its twin-fin design, the powerfully sculpted front skirt and the new rear skirt with twin round tailpipes. The interior benefits from the optional, fully digital cockpit featuring exclusive AMG instruments and the new generation of AMG steering wheels. The 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine now produces 287 kW (390 hp). Handling and agility have been further enhanced by the highly responsive AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the rear-biased AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

  • The new Mercedes-AMG SL 43 Interior Design

Mercedes-AMG presents the SL 43, a technically innovative new entry model for the AMG SL roadster, arriving in U.S. dealerships in summer 2023, starting from $109,900. Under the hood of the open-top 2+2-seater is an AMG-enhanced 2.0-liter turbocharged M139 engine featuring an electric exhaust gas turbocharger. This technology is a direct derivative of the development successfully used by the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. The new form of turbocharging guarantees spontaneous throttle response across the entire rpm range to deliver an even more dynamic driving experience. The turbocharger is operated via the 48-volt electrical system, which also feeds the belt-driven starter-generator (RSG). As a result, the SL 43 has an output of 375 hp and a maximum torque of 354 lb-ft.The 2023 Mercedes-AMG SL 43 roadster also shines with extensive standard equipment. In addition, numerous options provide customers with a wide range of possibilities for individualization. In the 70 years of its development history, the SL experienced the transformation from a thoroughbred racing car to an open-top luxury sports car – and has long enjoyed legendary status. The new Mercedes-AMG SL now marks another milestone in the model's history. It combines the distinct sportiness of the original SL with the unique luxury and technological excellence that characterize modern Mercedes-AMG models. The SL 43 exemplifies this with its innovative electric exhaust gas turbocharger. This technology comes directly from Formula 1 and solves the trade-off between a small, responsive turbocharger yielding a lower total output and a large turbocharger capable of high peak power with less responsiveness. With its combination of a comparatively lightweight AMG-enhanced 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive, the SL 43 displays impressive handling characteristics.

  • Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE Sedan Interior Design

The new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE is a real game changer in the 55-year history of AMG. With know-how from Formula 1, it brings state-of-the-art technologies from motorsport to the road. A two-speed electric motor positioned on the rear axle supports the 2.0-litre turbo engine that is mounted longitudinally at the front. This is the most powerful production four-cylinder in the world. Power delivery and torque build-up occur very spontaneously and without delay: as in Formula 1, the electric support of the exhaust gas turbocharger eliminates the turbo lag of the combustion engine, while at the same time the electric drive pushes powerfully from a standstill. The electric powertrain and the high-performance battery with 400 volts are AMG-exclusive, in-house developments. They underline the high-end engineering competence of the Affalterbach-based developers. Just like in Formula 1, the battery is specifically designed for fast power output and draw with innovative direct cooling of the cells. The combined system output is 500 kW (680 hp), the combined maximum system torque 1020 Nm. These are new peak values for the C-Class.
