San Francisco historic Old Saint Mary's Cathedral at risk of closure

San Francisco, Mar 7 (EFE/EPA).- The historic Old Saint Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco has survived for 167 years. But, it is now at risk of closure.The first Roman Catholic Cathedral in California and the second oldest church in San Francisco that's still in use barely survived the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, but is now at the risk of permanent closure due to the coronavirus pandemic. Recently the church had to close down its preschool program and bookstore and layoff 20 staff members and two priests. The historic church which was popular with tourist would often get donations, but has stopped during the pandemic closures.
