The Porsche Museum opened its doors on January 31, 2009. Ever since then, visitors have had the chance to experience the unique history of the company and fascinating sports cars and racing machines. A nimble drone flight offers uncommon perspectives: for the ten-year anniversary of the Porsche Museum, a nighttime flight captures automotive icons and milestones in the history of the brand.
13 four-wheeled music artists from the Porsche Museum bring unfamiliar sound to the Porsche Arena, piloted by former and current racers and numerous PS celebrities. Former race engineers and contemporary witnesses remember the racing successes and set off a firework of automotive emotions. In front of almost 4,000 listeners, the launches of the mostly undamped engines are the emotional highlights of the event. On the occasion of "70 Years of Porsche Sports Cars", the Sound Night took place this year in the Stuttgart Porsche Arena. "The Porsche Arena is exactly the right setting for the 70th anniversary of our sports cars," stresses Le Mans winner Marc Lieb.
Visitors to Sangareddy in the Indian state of Telangana will find an unusual jail. The colonial-era District Central Jail in Sangareddy is no longer an actual prison - it's a museum that's become a tourist attraction and even a therapy destination for visitors, who can now gain a 24-hour first-hand experience of prison life, or just cut themselves off from the world, by paying a fee of 500 rupees, or about $7.50, for a night's stay. Paying visitors receive prison uniforms, a steel meal plate, a mug, bedding, and other necessities of prison life before being led away by an officer to their cell in the guest prison, where they will languish for the rest of their 24-hour sentence. During their confinement, the guest 'prisoners' are allowed to plant saplings and clean their barracks. The 220-year-old prison, which has since been converted in to a museum, offers this unusual new service, called 'Feel the Jail', to drive interest and traffic to their doors. People have many of their own reasons for feeling the jail, from simply experiencing the novelty to serious therapy time away from the distracting pull of the digital world. The Porsche Penske Motorsport works team is fighting for victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona. At the three-quarter race distance mark, the #6 Porsche 963 was running in the lead for a while, before swapping the lead spot with the #7 sister car shortly afterwards. The hybrid prototypes fielded by the customer teams Proton Competition and JDC-Miller MotorSports remain on course for a top result. In the GTD classes, all five Porsche 911 GT3 Rs are still in contention.
