Nissan unveiled the Ariya Concept, a crossover EV with twin electric motors, powerful acceleration, award-winning driver assistance technology and a look that signals a complete reinvention of the brand's design.The new Nissan Ariya Concept, introduced at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, signals the dawn of a new era for Nissan as the company embarks to redefine its brand philosophy for the next evolutionary phase of the automobile.The Nissan Ariya Concept features a spacious, premium cabin with high-tech features and a body that conveys the pure, clean nature of electric cars. It embodies the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision of personal transportation - one where electrification and vehicle intelligence will offer seamless and adaptive travel experiences free of accidents or harmful emissions.The Nissan Ariya Concept expands on design elements first hinted at by the Nissan IMx concept at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. They include the bold electrified V-motion signature "shield" and striking rear light blade, short overhangs, and an interior that feels more like a lounge than a conventional vehicle.Although it's a concept vehicle, the crossover EV's bold styling and unconventional interior and exterior elements could make it into production in the near future."The Ariya Concept represents a strong collaboration between design and engineering," said Yasuhiro Yamauchi, representative executive officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Nissan unveiled the all-new IMQ concept vehicle, an advanced technology and design showcase that signals the direction of the next generation of crossovers.Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show, the IMQ seamlessly blends Japanese heritage with state-of-the-art, human-centric technology. It incorporates the latest innovations that bring to life Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the brand's vision for the future of automotive transportation. Its styling reflects Nissan's role as a pioneer and leader in crossovers, with a striking look that pushes the boundaries of what a European crossover can be.At the heart of the IMQ is the next generation of e-POWER, a 100% electric motor drive system that delivers instant, linear acceleration. It has been further developed from the e-POWER technology currently available in the best-selling Nissan Note and Serena models in Japan. In the IMQ, it delivers a total output of 250 kilowatts and 700 Nm of torque.This high output is channeled through a new multi-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering precise and independent control of each wheel. The combination of e-POWER and AWD is ideal for low-grip conditions, such as the snowy alpine roads outside Geneva.The Nissan IMQ offers additional insights into Nissan's technology vision. It's equipped with an advanced prototype version of Nissan's ProPILOT* driving assistance system which can offer enhanced autonomous driving capability. The model also features Nissan's Invisible-to-Visible technology, unveiled in January 2019 at the CES trade show.
The Nissan IMs, unveiled at the 2019 North American International Auto Show, is a completely new type of car - an "elevated sports sedan" that takes advantage of the packaging, platform and powertrain technology developed through Nissan Intelligent Mobility.While closer to a sedan than a crossover, the Nissan IMs concept's revolutionary proportions create a vehicle segment all of its own. It is defined by its pure electric-vehicle identity, with the battery located under the body, elevating cabin height. Its stretched interior space, a result of the vehicle's extended wheelbase, features unique "2+1+2" seating architecture with pivoting front seats and a rear seat that either offers three-across seating, or, once the slim rear outboard seats are folded, an indulgent "Premier Seat" in the rear center, worthy of world-class executive travel.
At the Japan Mobility Show today, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. unveiled the Nissan Hyper Force, the resounding finale to its innovative series of five "hyper" concept vehicles. With one EV concept revealed every week since Oct 3 leading up to the show, Nissan displayed its ability to envision a wide range of future customer needs and lifestyles, and to enrich people's lives with innovation and excitement.It's an all-electric high-performance supercar aiming to deliver the ultimate in driving pleasure while also offering high environmental performance and comfort for daily use.At its core is a high-output all-electric powertrain with an optimal-weight-balancing, all-solid-state battery that can produce output up to 1,000 kW with precise and rapid acceleration. Powerful downforce, an advanced form of Nissan's e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology, and light-weight body featuring high-strength carbon promise enhanced cornering and exceptional handling on circuits and winding roads.The exterior design, with its wide and planted proportions, is a blend of sleek curves merging seamlessly with bold geometry that reflects the performance underneath. Incorporated throughout the design are elements, such as on the front and rear lamps, that pay homage to Nissan's high-performance cars.The exterior achieves high aerodynamic performance, which was developed together with the NISMO racing team, generating powerful downforce. The two-tiered aerodynamic structure under the front hood provides both strong downforce and high cooling performance. Meanwhile, the dual-level* rear diffuser optimally controls airflow. The front canards, front fender flip and both ends of the rear wing feature unique active aero functionality, while a newly developed plasma actuator suppresses air detachment to maximize grip and minimize inner-wheel lift during cornering. The lightweight forged carbon wheels aid aerodynamics and brake cooling.
