Abarth has launched a hardcore ‘Pista’ edition of its Fiat 500-based 595 hot hatch.Available to order now and priced from £19,135, the 595 Pista is equipped with a new Garrett turbocharger that offers a higher torque output at lower revs and bumps power output from 143bhp to 163bhp.Further performance upgrades include a Record Monza Active sports exhaust and Koni rear suspension components that Abarth claims improve handling and stability. Sport Mode also features, adjusting torque, steering and throttle settings for an enhanced driving experience. Stopping power comes courtesy of an Abarth-specific performance braking system, comprising 284mm ventilated discs at the front and 240mm units at the rear.

One instantly recalls Scorpion’s legendary tuning kits, which turned standard vehicles into unbeatable race cars in the Sixties.   • New Abarth 595 Range Preview

    Available in hatchback and convertible versions, the models in the Abarth 595 range are united by specific characteristics that underline their sporty disposition and contribute to the improvement of performance. The four trim levels come with power levels from 145 to 180 hp, all Euro 6D Final-compliant, which can meet our customers’ every need.Distinctive but accessible, the 595 version is the entry point to the Abarth world and offers as standard all the equipment needed to guarantee the fun and driving pleasure typical of the Scorpion cars, firstly the “Sport mode” selector, renamed “Scorpion mode” in the new range. Pressing the button on the dashboard affects peak torque delivery, power steering calibration and engine response to the accelerator pedal, making them sharper. In terms of technology, the 595 version includes as standard the 7” touchscreen radio and to the delight of Abarth enthusiasts, there is a new startup and shutdown screen. Setup for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto* compatibility are available on request.

    The new Abarth 595 Monster Energy Yamaha special series is designed as an exclusive product, defining the ultra-high performance of Abarth. Produced in a limited edition of 2,000 units, the new special series celebrates the partnership between the two brands, which has now lasted since 2015. A bond based on shared values: performance, racing, technology and fun.Aesthetically inspired by the livery of the 2020 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s YZR-M1, the exterior of the new special series features a dual colour blue and black livery bearing the ‘Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’ logo on its lower side, just above the 595 logo. The special series is finished off with the Monster ‘claw’ on the bonnet, a sign of the new collaboration between the Scorpion and the renowned energy drink. The dark colours are contrasted with the grey finishes, as seen in the door handles and the front and rear DAM.On the inside, the model features the special new Abarth sports seats with blue finishes and the ‘Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’ logo on the head restraints. The blue lining stands out from the black dashboard, mirroring the dual colour livery, while the numbered plate is placed on the central tunnel.The Abarth 595 Monster Energy Yamaha is equipped with a 1.4 T-jet engine with Euro6D TEMP homologation, with manual transmission delivering 165hp.
