Renault and CarKraft - supporting road safety for young drivers

Description

The CarKraft safety initiative, launched in 2001, is an award-wining driver safety scheme aimed at young drivers aged between 15 and 30 years old, launched to cut the number of fatalities or people seriously injured in road traffic accidents. Renault has been involved for nine years, joining Northamptonshire Highways, Northamptonshire Police and Adrian Flux Insurance, and provides a fleet of vehicles to the scheme including Twingo, Clio, Captur and Mégane. The scheme runs three courses each year, which are free of charge and offers drivers a dynamic mix of workshops allowing young people to experience driving on simulated, challenging conditions. It explores the main causes of car crashes – failing to look/judge, excess and inappropriate speed, excess alcohol/drug driving and seat belt safety.
