This man is Pavel Yusov, and he's spent the last five days suspended in water with his body wrapped in a waterproof suit. It's all part of an experiment called 'dry immersion' and the main goal of the project is to find out more about the effects of zero gravity on the human body. Scientists from Moscow's Institute of Medical and Biological Problems measure the physiological effects of microgravity after five days, conductin a full medical examination on the subject, similar to the checkups on cosmonauts and astronauts after they return from space. Even short exposure to microgravity causes the human body to lose muscle tone and decreases the ability to operate in earth gravity, but dry immersion experiments hope to help space travelers overcome these effects.

General Motors gained as much as 8.9% to a record high on Tuesday. The gain comes on news that its autonomous vehicle subsidiary, Cruise, is receiving a large investment from Microsoft. Microsoft joins a number of companies in a $2 billion funding round for Cruise. Tuesday's price is a record-high for GM since it emerged from bankruptcy at the end of the Great Recession. The partnership will accelerate the commercialization of self-driving vehicles. It brings together the two companies' software and hardware engineering expertise, cloud computing capabilities, and manufacturing knowledge.
A new study says better heart health in middle age may help reduce a person's risk significantly for dementia later in life. Researchers at Sweden's Karolinska Institute studied 1,449 Finns enrolled in the Finnish Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Aging, and Dementia study. Adults with 'ideal' results on several cardiovascular health metrics were found to be 86% less likely to be diagnosed with dementia than those with lower scores. According to UPI, the metrics considered included smoking history, engagement in physical activity, body weight, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure. The findings suggest that maintaining lifelong heart health by not smoking, exercising regularly, and staying slim may reduce dementia risk later in life.

Business Insider spoke to the center's director of sales, Sean Middleton, who said the small family-run business has been working up to 18 hours a day to send 28,000 orders of their official merchandise around the world. Middleton also said that the center has been inundated with visitors, who either want to take selfies or pose for photoshoots at the back of the building.
