The new MINI Clubman is the largest car MINI has ever made, and the latest model has ditched the old car's odd door layout in favour of traditional doors. The barn doors at the back remain, and the MINI Clubman is best to be seen as a rival for traditional family hatchbacks instead of being a true load-lugging estate car. It doesn't come cheap, and once you dive into the extensive options list you could end up spending a small fortune, but the Clubman is fun to drive, impressively spacious for a MINI and it's certainly distinctive both inside and out. The high-quality interior goes some way to justifying the car's high price, too.
The latest Jaguar XF may not look too different from the old model (or the smaller Jaguar XE), but dig beneath the sleek looks and you'll find a much-improved executive saloon. The XF is aiming to steal sales from the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class and Audi A6, and this model is better than ever with a range of powerful and efficient diesel engines, a great drive and stylish interior.
The Fiat 500X is a jacked-up crossover version of the popular Fiat 500 city car. The new Vauxhall Corsa VXR hot hatch is the latest model in the Vauxhall range to get the hardcore VXR treatment. It packs 202bhp from its 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, which is more than its closest rivals - the Ford Fiesta ST and VW Polo GTI. There's plenty of clues as to the car's performance, including a racy bodykit, big alloy wheels, Recaro seats and plenty of sporty add-ons available to spec as options. Is it as good as the Ford?
