  • Thailand's economy contracts by 6.1% in 2020

    Bangkok, Feb 15 (EFE/EPA).- Thailand's economy shrank 6.1 percent in 2020, its largest contraction in two decades amid a halt in tourism and exports caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, according to data released by the government on Monday.Thailand’s gross domestic product (GDP) declined by 4.2 percent year-on-year in the fourth quarter of last year but grew by 1.3 percent over the previous quarter, the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council said.This is the third time in recent decades that Thailand’s economy has contracted.   • Maduro says Venezuela receives 98.6% less income in 2020 than the year he became president

    Democrat Jon Ossoff won the Georgia Senate runoff election against the Republican Sen. David Perdue. This win makes Ossoff the youngest Democratic senator elected since President-elect Joe Biden in 1973. The 33-year-old Ossoff is also the first millennial elected to Senate. According to Business Insider, Biden, now 78, won his first Senate seat in Delaware at the age of 30. Previously, the youngest incumbent senator was the Republican Sen. Josh Hawley, 41.
