The war in Ukraine has undercut the global recovery and slowed expected economic growth in most countries in the world, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva says. The International Monetary Fund slightly raises its forecast for 2023 US economic growth. "The US economy has proven resilient, consumer demand has held up particularly well, initially boosted by a drawdown of pent up savings, and more recently by solid growth in real disposable income. The International Monetary Fund slightly lowers its outlook for the global economy, predicting the global economy will grow by 2.8 percent this year and three percent in 2024, a decline of 0.1 percentage point from its previous forecasts in January. SOUNDBITE
