    World famous street painter Edgar Muller today achieved a new Guinness World Record™, as he created the worlds biggest anamorhpic pavement art outside Westfield London. He beat his own world record by covering an area of 318 square metres with a jaw-dropping wintry scene inspired by the family film Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, celebrating its launch on Blu-ray and DVD today. The pavement art took six days to create and included the beloved Ice Age 3 characters Manny, Buck, Sid, Diego, Scrat and Scratte positioned over an icy crevasse. The image will remain at Westfield London for a further week, to enable Christmas shoppers to become part of the image by posing in the scene.   • American Powerboat Pilots Claim New World Speed Record for US-Cuba Route

    Powerboats sped across the Caribbean Sea last weekend in a blistering pace and the pilots are believed to have set a new Guinness World Record. American speedboat pilots Nigel Hook and Jay Johnson set what they claim to be a new world record, covering the distance from the US island city of Key West to Cuba's Havana in one hour, 18 minutes and three seconds on Thursday. The US duo broke the previous record set by German pilot Roger Kluh in August, who covered the same distance in one hour and 45 minutes. The two pilots are seeking a Guinness World Record recognition for the feat.

  • Russian Orthodox Priest Breaks Hot Air Balloon Record

    Renowned Russian adventurer and Orthodox priest Fyodor Konyukhov set a new world record when he successfully landed with his crew in his hot air balloon near Saratov on Thursday, after flying the balloon for more than 55 hours. The record-breaking voyage began on February 7 in the city of Rybinsk and covered a total distance of 640 miles across Russia. During the flight, the balloon reached the height of between 620 and 980 feet, flying at a speed of between 6 and 25 miles per hour. The endurance trip took the crew over many of Russian Orthodoxy's best known landmarks and churches. Konyukhov's flight exceeded the previous world record for a non-stop flight in a 9 000 to 12 000 m³ category hot air balloon, which was set by Japanese pilots Hirazuki Takezava and Michio Kanda in 1997, by more than four hours.
