Mexican President Optimistic A Deal With U.S. On Tariffs Will Be Reached

Reuters reports that Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is hopeful that the US and Mexico can reach an agreement. President Lopez Obrador said he is “optimistic” that talks in Washington which are focused on preventing sweeping, across-the-board tariffs on Mexican exports to the United States can reach an agreement. Lopez Obrador stressed the need to maintain good relations while negotiating firmly with the Trump Administration in the fight over immigration in remarks during his regular morning news conference on Wednesday.
