Zuckerberg Announces Changes To Make Facebook Chats More Secure

Description

According to Reuters, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday said the company would work to securely encrypt conversations on its messaging services. Zuckerberg said in a post on his Facebook profile that “working towards implementing end-to-end encryption for all private communications is the right thing to do.” He added that the company will consult experts throughout 2019. The move would limit the company’s ability to make money by integrating targeted ads. Zuckerberg said users want better control of their data. There has been growing public concern over the last two years that Facebook is not doing enough to safeguard user data. Police say encryption would make is so they no longer could get access to online chat records in investigations.
