The Bentley Flying Spur – hailed as “the best luxury sedan in the world” – is now available with Bentley’s renowned and highly successful V8 powertrain, as an alternative to the iconic W12.Research from the last ten years shows a significant shift in the usage of the Flying Spur from chauffeur-driven owners to customers driving themselves with passengers accompanying them. Global research (including two customer clinics in America and China) also demonstrated that over 40 per cent of customers travel with rear seat passengers at least once a week. This data has been used to develop the latest iteration of the new four door grand tourer, focusing on the driver experience whilst retaining a cabin space that combines exquisite luxury with integrated latest-generation technology. The Flying Spur V8 offers a more driver-centric experience via increased agility and a more characterful engine note, whilst benefiting from increased range between fuel stops and a reduction in CO2 emissions.
Bentley Motors is introducing a striking Blackline specification for the all-new Flying Spur – the British marque’s driver-focused, four-door model that combines sports sedan agility with modern limousine refinement. The third generation of the world’s most advanced luxury Grand Tourer can now be specified with a range of subtle but distinctive features. Much of the brightwork on the exterior of the car is replaced with Blackline trim, helping to create an even more powerful road presence for the peerless Flying Spur. The exterior brightware incorporated in the Blackline specification includes the iconic Flying B mascot, radiator vanes, matrix grilles, side window surrounds, and lower door and rear bumper blades. The front and rear light bezels, door handles, wing vents and the exhaust outlets also receive the same distinguished, darkened treatment.Standard fit on the Blackline specification are 21” five tri-spoke alloy wheels, with 22” Mulliner Driving Specification wheels optional. Customers can choose from among 17 standard exterior colors, as well as a further 13 extended range colors at launch. The Blackline specification already proved extremely popular with customers of the new Continental GT. Since the beginning of the year, up to 30 percent of all GTs bought, depending on model, belonged to the Blackline family.

Volvo Cars, a leader in automotive safety, and Uber, the leading ride-hailing firm, today present a jointly developed production car capable of driving by itself, the next step in the strategic collaboration between both companies. Uber and Volvo Cars entered a joint engineering agreement in 2016 and have since developed several prototypes aimed at accelerating the companies’ self-driving car development. The Volvo XC90 SUV presented today is the first production car that in combination with Uber’s self-driving system is capable of fully driving itself. The XC90 base vehicle is equipped with key safety features that allow Uber to easily install its own self-driving system, enabling the possible future deployment of self-driving cars in Uber’s network as an autonomous ridesharing service.
