Floridians return to shattered homes as Irma crosses into Georgia

Description

As South Floridians begin to make their way home in the aftermath of Irma, Georgia braces for Tropical storm Irma, as power outages are being reported throughout the state including in Metro Atlanta. Because of Irma's massive size, rain and coastal flooding weren’t the only concern in Georgia. Reportedly tropical-storm-force winds, capable of downing trees and causing outages, extended a lengthy 415 miles from the storms center. Additionally meteorologist warned of tornadoes as a possibility from northeastern Georgia to southeastern South Carolina, where a tornado watch was in effect through 10 p.m.
