Uganda's Constitutional Court rejects a bid to overturn a controversial anti-gay law that is considered one of the toughest in the world. "We decline to nullify the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023 in its entirety, neither will we grant a permanent injunction against its enforcement," Justice Richard Buteera, Uganda's deputy chief justice and head of the court, says in the landmark ruling. Controversial British-American influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan arrive at a Bucharest court of appeals, after their arrest by Romanian police over UK sex offence charges. Romanian authorities said in a statement that they executed "two European arrest warrants issued by the UK judicial authorities for the committing of sexual offences, of exploitation of persons on the territory of the UK". Christian Brueckner, the German man suspected of abducting missing British toddler Madeleine McCann, appears in public for the first time since being named in her case, arriving at a court in Braunschweig for the start of his trial on unrelated sex crime charges. German prosecutors have yet to charge Brueckner over Madeleine's disappearance, but in October 2022 he was charged with five separate counts of rape and child sex abuse allegedly committed in Portugal, where Madeleine disappeared, between 2000 and 2017.
