  • Human remains found in southeast England, as London police officer arrested for murder

    Police cars are stationed near the town of Ashford, in southeast England, after authorities discover human remains in woodland. The remains have not yet been identified but they were found as part of an investigation into the disappearance of 33-year-old Sarah Everard.   • US Capitol Police Members Suspended After Violent Uprising

    Two members of the US Capitol Police have been suspended after welcoming pro-Trump rioters into the Capitol building on Wednesday. According to Business Insider, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) said one of the officers took a selfie with a rioter. The other put on a 'Make America Great Again' hat and directed insurrectionists through the building. Ryan is on the Legislative Branch Subcommittee, which oversees spending on the Capitol Police force. He said one of the members may have been arrested. The attack Wednesday was the worst assault on the US Capitol since British forces burned it down in 1814. The rioters failed to stop the certification of electoral college votes for President-elect Joe Biden at the urging of President Donald Trump. The violence resulted in five deaths.

  • Man Who Allegedly Kidnapped, Murdered Man In His Own Squad Car Was On-Duty Cop

    The girlfriend of 30-year-old Robert Howard reported him missing Wednesday night. He was later found to have been shot to death inside a vehicle. According to Newser, the grisly murder was made even more horrifying by the discovery of who the killer was. The suspect is an on-duty police officer in Memphis, Tennessee, and authorities say the vehicle was his own patrol car. Patric Ferguson, 29, faces first-degree murder and kidnapping charges, and he's been fired from the force. Ferguson confronted Howard outside a home, forced him into the back of the squad car, drove less than a half-mile away, and fatally shot him. Another man has been charged with helping Ferguson dispose of the body. Police say the remains were later discovered near a bridge.
