The United States has reached the assessment that Russian military forces committed war crimes in Ukraine, US ambassador at large for global criminal justice Beth Van Schaack tells reporters at a State Department briefing. SOUNDBITE

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says Ukraine is still inflicting major losses on Russia, despite Kyiv not managing to regain captured territory. "Of course we would like them to to liberate as much territory as possible, as quickly as possible, but even though the frontline has not moved, the Ukrainians have been able to inflict heavy losses on the Russian invaders," he says.
