Joining France 24 for an in-depth look at the EU-Poland row is Aleks Szczerbiak, Professor of Politics and Contemporary European Studies at the University of Sussex. 'There's great opposition to Poland leaving the EU,' Professor Szczerbiak explains, 'which is why the opposition is trying to focus on it, and trying to argue that this is where that process is going to lead. But the government is trying to roll back from this, and say 'no,' we're simply asserting that, in certain areas, the Polish government must have sovereignty, that the EU treaties aren't covered. Polish law and the Polish Constitution are supreme. And that is what we're asserting, not the fact that we want to leave the EU.'
