A 17th-century oil sketch, believed to contain the fingerprints of the Dutch artist Rembrandt van Rijn, will go under the hammer in London next week. As the prints were found on the original work, there is a high chance he was handling it while the paint was still wet. The painting is estimated to fetch up to £8 million pounds (€8.9 million; $10 million).
In their quest for proof, UFO watchers have turned their attention to a 17th-century Georgian fresco of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion in the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta, because of two strange objects painted in the upper part of the Byzantine style painting which look suspiciously like flying saucers. Artist Grigorii Guldzhavarashvili depicted two semicircular objects with three tails just under the hands of Jesus, and they are at the center of the speculation.
A four-year-old boy who had been missing for nearly five days in a forest inhabited by bears, has been found alive. The child, named Dima Peskov, was discovered in a Siberian forest near the Ural Mountains. Little Dima survived by eating grass and drinking from puddles, but the dirty water and constant bites by mosquitos and other insects had taken their toll. He was on the verge of death when he was discovered.
