Bee conservationist Filipe Salbany has discovered thousands of rare wild honeybees, which may be the last descendants of Britain’s native honey bee population in ancient woodlands on Blenheim Estate in central south England. Salbany says it’s crucial that the population is studied to learn how to protect other bees and prevent cross breeding which can lead to decline in numbers.
Ahead of a global summit on biodiversity, which opened on Friday in Marseille, France, President Emmanuel Macron called for better protection of the world's high seas. Scientists fear human-created pollution has spread throughout the sea, not just along the coast, endangering many marine species.
The British government on Monday lifted pandemic restrictions on daily life in England, scrapping all social distancing rules in a step slammed by scientists and opposition parties as a dangerous leap into the unknown. FRANCE 24's Benedicte Paviot tells us more.
