On the last day of a NATO summit in Madrid, United States President Joe Biden says that the United States intends to announce "more than 800 million" dollars in military aid to Ukraine in the next few days including "new advanced Western air defence systems for Ukraine, more artillery and ammunition, counter-battery radars, additional ammunition for the HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems we've already given Ukraine and more HIMARS from other countries as well." Germany announces 1.3 billion euros more in military gear for Ukraine in its fight against Russia, including four further IRIS T-SLM air defence systems as well as artillery ammunition. President Joe Biden exhorts the US Congress to approve urgent military support for Israel and Ukraine, saying the aid would boost US security "for generations." "It is a smart investment that's going to pay dividends for American security for generations. (It'll) help us keep American troops out of harm's way.
