Air France staff asked to give up holiday days as losses mount

Description

Staff at Air France are being asked to give up three holiday days as part of a new cost-cutting proposal at the airline. The company is losing millions of euros per day as passenger numbers remain at a fraction of pre-pandemic levels. Talks are ongoing at a European Union level about another government aid package for Air France-KLM, which has already recieved more than €10bn in financial help from France and the Netherlands. Also today, the World Bank warns that sub-Saharan African countries won't recover their lost economic output in 2021.
