US lawmakers give final approval to $1.9tn stimulus plan

The US House of Representatives gave a final green light to the $1.9 trillion stimulus package, which will be signed into law by President Joe Biden on Friday. The rescue package will extend unemployment benefits and include a $1,400 direct payment to many Americans.
