ŠKODA has demonstrated the possibilities of pure-electric travel on land and in the air by pitting the new ENYAQ iV against the world’s first all-electric passenger plane, revealing how zero emission travel of all types could soon be a reality.Positioned at the cutting-edge of electric aviation, there are currently only two airworthy examples of the Pipistrel Velis Electro in the UK. Soon, though, it is hoped that hundreds of the aircraft will change the face of sustainable flight. To give an indication of the progress of electrified transport and demonstrate just how far EV technology has come, the ENYAQ iV and electric plane were put head-to-head in a twin test with a difference.With a range of up to 331 miles thanks to its 82kWh battery and highly aerodynamic design, the five-seat ENYAQ iV leaves range anxiety in its wake. In comparison, the Velis Electro’s 21kWh energy supply provides just 45 minutes of flight time - around 125 miles at cruise. Unrestricted by the speed limits under which the ENYAQ iV’s 150kW motor must operate, however, the plane’s 60kW powerplant can propel two passengers up to a top speed of 112mph.
The first fully electric SUV from ŠKODA, based on the Volkswagen Group's Modular Electric Platform (MEB), deserved a presentation in line with its main attributes: efficient, emotional and electrifying. The ŠKODA ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV is the sportiest version yet of the new, all-electric SUV from Mladá Boleslav. Its look is characterised by a range of black design features and large wheels, while the lowered sports chassis makes for a particularly dynamic driving experience. The interior adds to the sporty feel, thanks to decorative, carbon-style trims, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and seats with integrated headrests. ŠKODA’s new flagship model range now includes a SPORTLINE variant, offered in three performance levels. The ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 60 has an output of 132 kW, while the ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 80 produces 150 kW. Both feature rear-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 80x is equipped with two electric motors generating a combined output of 195 kW.

Emotive, efficient, electrifying: the new ŠKODA ENYAQ iV marks a pioneering step forward in the Czech carmaker’s electromobility strategy. The first ŠKODA production model based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car platform combines brand-typical virtues such as a generous amount of space and an emotive design with fun yet sustainable driving. There is a choice of three battery sizes and five power variants, depending on requirements. The all-electric SUV is set to be built at ŠKODA’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, making it the first MEB-based Volkswagen Group vehicle in Europe to be produced outside Germany.
