Waste not, want not: UK consumers use apps to fight food waste

Description

A third of the food produced globally ends up in the bin, with most waste in the UK happening at the consumer end. With this food waste come economic losses for households and the restaurant industry, but the biggest cost by far is to the environment. A series of apps aim to help users rescue food otherwise destined for the rubbish bin.

  • Disgusting Sewer Phenomenon Called 'Fatberg' Goes On Display at Museum of London

Weighing over 130 tons, or the equivalent of 11 double decker buses, and stretching for more than 820 feet, the calcified, solid mass was cleared from the sewers by Thames Water, but it has quite a story to tell. It went on display at the Museum of London on Thursday.
