"Vehicle Unlocked" Porsche car reveal with Neel Jani and André Lotterer

Porsche is breaking new ground as it launches its vehicle for the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2019/2020 in a new way. On August 28 at 6 p.m. (CEST), everyone is challenged to unveil the Porsche Formula E car for Season 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship by taking part in a custom-created live video game, “Formula E Unlocked” on Twitch, the leading service and community for multiplayer entertainment. The video game will last for several hours."Formula E Unlocked" will see Porsche and Twitch engage people from all over the world to work together to complete the game and unveil the Porsche Formula E vehicle. Never before has an unveiling been placed completely in the hands of an audience in this way.

Porsche continues to gain momentum ahead of its ABB FIA Formula E Championship entry: Neel Jani has been signed as the first driver. With the experienced Swiss racer on board, the new works team will begin track testing early in 2019 to prepare for the worldwide, fully electric single seater series’ sixth season, which kicks off in December 2019. Porsche is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first standardised chassis to install its in-house-developed drive train, which has already been on the test benches. Jani has been a Porsche works driver since 2013. At the wheel of the Porsche 919 Hybrid he took outright victory at Le Mans in 2016 and became FIA World Endurance Champion the same year. Between 2014 and the end of 2017, the 35-year-old won four races in the 919 while securing nine pole positions and four fastest race laps. In 2018 he smashed the track record at Spa-Francorchamps (BE), where he beat the then Formula One benchmark with the 919 Hybrid Evo. Jani began his career in single seaters, climbing up to Formula One as a test driver.

Porsche - First race first win

Porsche has won the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Spa-Francorchamps. Works driver Kévin Estre from France and Neel Jani from Switzerland drove a commanding race in the No. 92 Porsche 911 RSR to claim victory in the hotly contested GTE-Pro class. For Estre, who had already dazzled at Friday’s qualifying with a record lap, this marks the second win in a row at the six-hour race in Belgium. Jani triumphed at his first outing with the Porsche GT Team. The sister car driven by their brand colleagues Richard Lietz (Austria) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) crossed the finish line in fifth place after a difficult race.
