No evidence of monster in Loch Ness says scientists


A scientist researching the water of Loch Ness has found no evidence of a monster but says he came across large amounts of eel DNA in the lake in the Scottish highlands.

    Scientists plan to use environmental DNA (eDNA) to discover if the Loch Ness Monster exists. eDNA sampling is used to monitor marine life like whales and sharks. “This DNA can be captured, sequenced and then used to identify that creature by comparing the sequence obtained to large databases of known genetic sequences from hundreds of thousands of different organisms." Professor Neil Gemmell, University of Otago, New Zealand. The BBC funded an extensive scientific search for the monster in 2003. Their findings are expected to be presented in January 2019.
