Two weeks after leaving the governing majority, Senator Matteo Renzi arrives to speak with the Italian President on the ongoing political crisis. The prime minister resigned on Tuesday 26 January 2021 following a falling-out with a junior coalition partner that left him short of a majority in the Senate, the upper house of parliament.
