Nissan pulls X-Trail production from the UK


Japanese automaker Nissan has announced it no longer plans to produce its new X-Trail model in the United Kingdom, citing falling demand for diesel cars in Europe and uncertainty over Brexit. Announcing the delay, May was laughed at by some members of parliament when she said there was broad support for her deal reached with the EU last month, the result of 18 months of tortuous negotiations, and that she had listened carefully to different views over it.

    The all-new Altima arrives on dealer lots in the U.S. this fall and will be produced at Nissan Smyrna and Nissan Canton assembly plants. Nissan North America has announced a $170 million investment in its Smyrna, Tennessee and Canton, Mississippi assembly plants to support production of the 2019 Altima.
