The new Maxima also offers available Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of advanced driver-assist systems that supports the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision to redefine how cars are driven, powered and integrated into society.In the 2018 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, Nissan Maxima was ranked number one in the Large Car segment and was the second highest ranked model among all vehicles in the study. The 2019 Maxima also continues its reputation as an exciting near-luxury sports sedan with its standard 300-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine and sport-tuned steering, braking and suspension.
Maxima is the longest continuous running Nissan nameplate in the U.S., linking back to 1981, the year Maxima was first sold here.As the flagship of Nissan’s vibrant sedan lineup, which includes the trio of recently redesigned Altima, Sentra and Versa models, Maxima continues to garner prestigious industry awards. In June, Maxima was named the top vehicle in the Large Car segment of J.D. Power Initial Quality Study for the third consecutive year. In July, Maxima led J.D. Power’s APEAL Study Large Car category, again for the third year in a row and 30 points ahead of the segment average. It has also achieved a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for five straight years.In addition to the 40th Anniversary Edition, the 2021 Maxima will be offered in SV, SR and Platinum grade levels – each equipped with a 300-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine and Xtronic transmission.
The Nissan IMs, unveiled at the 2019 North American International Auto Show, is a completely new type of car - an "elevated sports sedan" that takes advantage of the packaging, platform and powertrain technology developed through Nissan Intelligent Mobility.While closer to a sedan than a crossover, the Nissan IMs concept's revolutionary proportions create a vehicle segment all of its own. It is defined by its pure electric-vehicle identity, with the battery located under the body, elevating cabin height. Its stretched interior space, a result of the vehicle's extended wheelbase, features unique "2+1+2" seating architecture with pivoting front seats and a rear seat that either offers three-across seating, or, once the slim rear outboard seats are folded, an indulgent "Premier Seat" in the rear center, worthy of world-class executive travel.
The new 2019 Nissan LEAF e+ has a 62 kWh battery pack and an EPA-estimated range of up to 226 miles. Sales in the U.S. are expected to begin in spring 2019.
