Hidden Infant Planets Discovered Orbiting A Young Star

Description

A team of astronomers has discovered three infant planets around a newborn star. Two new papers published in Astrophysical Journal Letters Wednesday describe the finding. The astronomers in Chile used the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). The three infant planets were found around a young star located about 330 light-years from Earth. The star is twice the size of Earth's Sun and four million years old.
