The man who set himself on fire outside the court where Donald Trump is standing trial is in "critical condition" at a burn center in New York, authorities tell reporters. "Civilians, officers, members of the police department, they run into the park, they make efforts to put him out. They use their coats, they use fire extinguishers. Eventually, FPNY (New York Fire Patrol) respond, (they) were able to extinguish the fire," Chief Maddrey tells a press conference on the scene, outside the court where Donald Trump is standing trial. Uganda's Constitutional Court rejects a bid to overturn a controversial anti-gay law that is considered one of the toughest in the world. "We decline to nullify the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023 in its entirety, neither will we grant a permanent injunction against its enforcement," Justice Richard Buteera, Uganda's deputy chief justice and head of the court, says in the landmark ruling. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says he will not allow the European Court of Human Rights to block the government's planned policy of deporting migrants to Rwanda. Speaking after the UK Supreme Court ruled the policy unlawful, he says he will introduce "emergency legislation" to designate Rwanda a safe country. "If the (European Court of Human Rights) chooses to intervene against the express wishes of parliament, I am prepared to do what is necessary to get the flights off" he says. SOUNDBITE
