The introduction of Legend equipped with the Honda SENSING Elite represents the next step forward in the area of advanced safety technology.
General Motors gained as much as 8.9% to a record high on Tuesday. The gain comes on news that its autonomous vehicle subsidiary, Cruise, is receiving a large investment from Microsoft. Microsoft joins a number of companies in a $2 billion funding round for Cruise. Tuesday's price is a record-high for GM since it emerged from bankruptcy at the end of the Great Recession. The partnership will accelerate the commercialization of self-driving vehicles. It brings together the two companies' software and hardware engineering expertise, cloud computing capabilities, and manufacturing knowledge.
Honda’s first battery electric vehicle for Europe, the Honda e, has been named ‘German Car of the Year 2021’ in the country’s prestigious annual Car of the Year Awards, becoming the first vehicle from a Japanese brand to do so. The car also won in the ‘New Energy’ category.
When reimagining the next generation of Jazz, Honda engineers and designers were united in their ambition to put driver and occupant comfort at the heart of all their decision making. By considering all elements of the car as one development team, decisions impacting structure, design and ergonomics were made simultaneously, resulting in class-leading levels of comfort and spaciousness and a significant step forward from its predecessor.Central to achieving this is Honda’s newly developed body stabilising seat frame with supportive mat structure. The new front seat mat structure is placed at both the bottom and back of the seat and replaces the S-spring design of previous models. The introduction of a wider seat bottom has allowed the seat pad depth to be increased by 30mm with the additional softness immediately noticeable when seated. This new structure combined with the increased padding allows the cushion to flex moderately but, crucially, to not bottom out.The enhanced structure in the back of the seat increases lumbar and pelvic support to create a body stabilising effect. This helps to prevent fatigue, particularly in the hip and waist area of occupants on longer journeys. Additionally, the new structure makes it easier to maintain a comfortable and stable driving posture, even when cornering and on uneven road surfaces.
In keeping with Honda's commitment to occupant safety, the new Jazz (and its Crosstar variant) is the first of the brand's models in Europe, and the first of its segment on the market, which incorporates the new front center airbag technology. This new passive safety feature is just one of the components of the new Jazz's comprehensive suite of safety technologies and driver assistance systems, cementing the reputation of this car as one of the safest in Europe.
