Teenage environmental activist Greta Thunberg had strong words for Amy Coney Barrett. Amy Coney Barrett has a fairly noncommittal stance on climate change. The Supreme Court nominee expressed it during her confirmation hearing earlier this week. “To be fair, I don’t have any ‘views on climate change’ either,” Thunberg wrote on Twitter. “Just like I don’t have any ‘views’ on gravity, the fact that the earth is round, photosynthesis nor evolution ... But understanding and knowing their existence really makes life in the 21st century so much easier.” Thunberg Thunberg rose to fame for taking a stance against climate change at a very young age.
President Donald Trump on Saturday aimed a large dose of spleen at the US Supreme Court. According to Business Insider, Trump's latest outburst stems from his loss to now President-elect Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Trump and his campaign's legal team have so far lost all attempts made at reversing the election result. Trump said he had 'PROOF' of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, but did not provide any such evidence. During his tenure, Trump successfully nominated three justices to the court: Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett in 2020. But now, he counts them among the rest of the Supreme Court justices as 'totally incompetent' and 'weak.'
Dianne Feinstein is the oldest member of the US Senate. According to a report in the New Yorker, the California senator is having noticeable issues with her memory. The issues have gotten so bad that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told Feinstein to step aside as ranking member of the Judiciary Committee. Feinstein recently forgot their first conversation, sources told the New Yorker. She recently announced that she'd be stepping down as the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee. She faced backlash from progressives for not being aggressive enough in the hearings to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
CNN projects that South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham has held on to his Senate seat. Graham will return to the Senate for a fourth term after defeating Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison. South Carolina is a conservative state that hasn't elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1998. CNN has also projected that President Donald Trump will win the state's 9 electoral votes. Graham serves as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Graham pushed through Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation just days before the election. Graham had said previously that he would not appoint a Supreme Court judge during an election year.
