Alabama, Jul 26 (EFE/EPA).- Military pallbearers carried Sunday the casket of civil rights leader and Democratic Representative from Georgia John Lewis into the state capitol in Mongomery.Lewis died at age 80 on 17 July 2020 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2019. John Lewis was the youngest leader in the March on Washington in 1963. Selma, Jul 25 (EFE/EPA).- The state of Alabama began saying goodbye to civil rights hero and Democratic congressman John Lewis on Saturday, the first of six days of gatherings honoring his life.A number of memorial services were held across Lewis' home state of Alabama.Lewis died on 17 July at the of age 80 on 17 July 2020 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2019.
