Colombian Amazon suffers in silence as COVID-19 hits local population

Deep in the Colombian Amazon, coronavirus has carried with it a new threat to the jungle. The local population lacks significant resources to fight the virus, so the people have been left suffering in silence. Brazil is at the heart of the battle against COVID-19 in Latin America. It has opened a corridor of contagion that has further weakened its precarious health system.
