In 1942, an intelligence officer in North Africa encounters a female French Resistance fighter on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. According to Comicbook.com, "The Walking Dead followed its source material quite closely with the Season Nine premiere. The AMC show aired its Episode 9x01 on Sunday night, with Gregory having been killed in true-to-the-comics form and Maggie and Daryl not exactly seeing eye to eye with Rick Grimes." For the most part the episode only deviated from 'The Walking Dead' source material for the sake of drama. The show's writers do this so the show has a consistent it's tone and also so that it doesn't disappoint the fans.
