  • Stunning 3,500-Year-Old Monumental Artwork Unearthed in Peru

    An incredibly well-preserved ancient artwork, a detailed and colorful wall frieze showing two fanged beasts facing each other, was discovered under layers of mud and rock near the Peruvian capital Lima. Astonishingly, Peruvian archeologists have confirmed that polychrome friezes, discovered at Huaca Garagay archeological site near Lima's San Martin de Porres district on Thursday, are over 3,500 years old as determined by carbon dating. The monuments and walls are thought to have been built by the ancient Chavin people.
